Help on using our site
We have tried to make our website as accessible as
resources allow. If you have any difficulties in accessing any of the information
here, please get in touch with us, and we will try to make it available in some way.
We have provided a limited range of access keys on
most pages.
- 0 (zero) – these access key
details
- 3 – takes you to our site map
- 6 – takes you to this help page
- S – skip main navigation. This will
skip the main menu which appears on every page and take you to the page
content. This will sometimes start with a small sub-menu, or with
marginal notes or links; skip these as well by using Z below.
- Z – takes you to the top of the
main
page content, skipping any marginal notes or links for the page as well as
the main menu.
Some of these match the scheme adopted for UK government websites. They
are not present on every page.
For more information on how to use access keys, please see the guidance
on Directgov.
Changing text size
This is fully scaleable: in Internet Explorer, you can adjust it via View
> Text size. In the current versions of Firefox and Netscape, it is
rather
easier: press CONTROL and + or - to enlarge or reduce the text. CONTROL + 0 (zero) to
return to normal size.
Internet Explorer 7 now has an additional method: those CONTROL and + or
- keys now magnify or reduce the page as a whole.
With some settings, Firefox and Netscape interpret text at a smaller size than Internet
Explorer, and you may want to enlarge it using CONTROL and +.
Site map
We have a detailed site map
here, which expands on the contents of some of the menu items.
